Alexandria Papa is Senior Business Analyst at Pfizer in the Research and Early Clinical Development Business Technology team and is responsible for business analysis support for translational and bioinformatics software (including tranSMART). Alex serves as a member of the Project Management Committee for the tranSMART Foundation, which helps oversee the development of the tranSMART Foundation platform.

Title: GWAS enhancements
Pfizer deployed its own internal tranSMART version R2.5 (off of the Foundation 1.2.4) in September 2016. Currently to date, the Pfizer instance contains 73 GWAS studies and 2,824 GWAS analyses. The presentation will take a deeper dive into the release, including all the important new features for tranSMART clients related to GWAS that were shared with the Foundation.

Title: Molecular data normalizations and metadata
In 2015, Pfizer and Thomson Reuters co-developed a set of meta-data standards for loading protein assay, metabolomics, flow, RNAqPCR, RNA Microarray, and RNAseq data types into tranSMART. The presentation will go in depth into how it was developed, and how it is a useful template for collecting studies across different research units within Pfizer.
