Yulia Skovpen is a scientist with an experience in chemistry and biology. Yulia has an extensive knowledge in the area of enzymology, enzyme kinetics, molecular biology, drug design and synthetic organic chemistry. In particular, she worked on developing of inhibitors of dihydrodipicolinate synthase, a bacterial enzyme and a validated antibiotic target. The major result of this work was the synthesis of the first potent allosteric inhibitor of dihydrodipicolinate synthase. Currently Yulia is working as a Scientist (scientific data curator) at Rancho Biosciences. She is managing several projects related to data curation, annotation and integration for the open-source platform (tranSMART). She earned her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Pharmacy (First Moscow Medical University, Russia) and PhD in Chemistry (University of Saskatchewan, Canada).
Title: An Example of NGS Workflow in tranSMART
In this case we will use CHDI NGS data from knock-in mouse models of Huntington’s disease along with similar type of human data available in GEO in order to develop NGS – tranSMART workflow. Ideally, mouse model and human datasets will be pre-analyzed in Galaxy or similar pipeline and resulting processed data will be loaded in tranSMART. Then tranSMART will be used to compare biomarker findings for human and mouse models. We will also touch upon technical issues that arose during preparation of this use case.
